This course includes:
• Nursing Assistant skills
• Basic Anatomy and Physiology and infection control
• Emphasis on communication, professionalism and compassion
• Preparation for state Nursing Assistant Certification exam

Additional Information:
• Uniform and watch required for labs and clinical.
• The course also has a clinical component which includes off-site patient care. The student must have the following before entering into the clinical setting:
o Reliable transportation to clinical site
o Medical release that student is able to perform Essential Functions
o Negative TB test
o Updated immunizations including the influenza vaccine.
o CPR Certification
• To participate in the clinical portion of the course, clinical settings may require documentation such as Social Security Number and proof of citizenship.
• Students are required to successfully complete two semesters in both the clinical and classroom portions to be qualified to take the state certification exam.

Clinical portion:
May include some afternoons, evenings, and Saturdays
